Primary Role:
The main purpose of this role is to produce and check Structural designs according to Metro Trains standards and railway best practice.
Responsibilities:
- Structural Designing Carry out detailed analysis and design of various Station buildings for Metro as well as for Railway as per IRS/IRC standards.
- Driving and controlling their consultant regarding all structural issues
- Represent the joint venture in meetings with their client on all structural matters as needed
- Responsible for structural design, and related issuesManage designers as needed
- In- Depth knowledge and understanding of codes, standards, and local regulations to achieve economical design
- Vendor finalization- Reviewing vendor qualification according to the requirement of site for all supply material
- Managing the Design work including discussions, approvals from client of the submitted Drawings etc
- Interacting with clients to ascertain their needs and develop design-based reports, concepts, and specifications for assigned projects for approvals
- Review and finalize Drawings as per standards for construction
- Close coordination with Project Manager, Execution team to resolve any Design issues at site during Construction stages
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project
- Be actively involved in Safety in Design, risk assessments, and peer reviews
- dentify and assist the resolution of design standard or operational requirements non-conformances
- Provide technical advice on projects to other officers/divisions and external parties
Knowledge/Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 Years of which 5 years in Metro Rail
- Electrical Engineering/Structural Design background required
- Experience in Engineering Change Notices, Design Practice Notes and Standard Waiver documentation in other rail networks
- Proficient in MS Office applications and AUTO CAD, STAAD, MIDAS-CIVIL, ETABS and other structural analysis and Design Software
