This course provides a basic understanding of the Queensland Rail electric traction system, relevant electrical risks and how to work safely in the electrified territory to prevent injuries and avoidable incidents.  It also provides basic guidelines to report incidents and emergencies effectively.

Successful completion of this training and SARC is mandatory to perform work safely in the Queensland Rail Electrified area.

On successful completion of the training, students will receive a: 

Certificate of Achievement

QR3.15 Working in the Electrified Territory

Learners are required to complete the following before being allowed on the rail:

  • Successfully Complete QR SARC and Fatigue Management Strategies
  • Hold a Valid CAT 3 or above Medical
  • Hold a Valid RIW Card with the following roles:
    • QR – Operator
    • Around the Track (Construction)

The Queensland Rail Certificate of Achievement (QR3.15 Working in the Electrified Territory) is valid for 3 years (1095 days) from the date of the training.

Before the expiry date, students will need to return to JMDR to complete recertification. If the expiry date has passed‚ the student must return to JMDR and re-sit the full Working in the Electrified Territory (WET) course.
