Signalling Designer: To carry out production if signalling design in accordance with NR standards. Ensure that all work is delivered in accordance with technical, safety and quality standards. Deliver the design to checker in timely and organised manner after carrying out thorough production check to ensure quality.

Responsibilities: 

  • Production, of location and REB designs in accordance with project programme, budgetary and technical requirements
  • Support the Lead Engineer with the delivery program
  • Strive to increase competency by continuously acquiring new skills
  • Identify best practice signalling processes as part of a continual improvement plan to increase efficiency and minimise cost of non-quality and technical / delivery risk
  • Application of CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations)
  • Application of the RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board)
  • Application of Network Rail Standards (or equivalent)
  • Verification of risk assessments

Knowledge/Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge of CSM (Common Safety Method)
  • Possesses effective communication skills
  • Computer skills including CAD
  • Time management and time keeping
  • Knowledge/Experience Requirements: Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in railway signalling engineering
  • Railway signalling qualification
  • Engineering qualification
  • Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards & specifications
  • Knowledge of modern signalling technology
  • IRSE License for Signalling Designer 1.1.510
  • IRSE License for Signalling Design Verifiers 1.1.160 will be considered as an added qualification
