Primary Role Manage the technical contractual scope of the project and functionally lead the project engineering team


  • Industry engagement
  • Establish and set technical strategy in line with overall business strategy to achieve commercial outcomes
  • Provide a dedicated engineering design service to clients to help drive growth of the business
  • Work collaboratively with the business including marketing, operations and industry associations to drive an innovative culture and focus on continuous improvement
  • Determining, implementing, and monitoring engineering strategies, policies and plans Interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications, and providing advice on engineering methods and procedures to achieve construction and production requirements
  • Establishing project schedules and budgets
  • Ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, and with laws, regulations, and safety standards
  • Ensuring engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness, and performance are observed
  • Overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency
  • Liaising with marketing, research and manufacturing managers regarding engineering aspects of new construction and product design
  • May contribute to research and development projects

Knowledge/Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in railway signalling engineering
  • Railway signalling qualification
  • Engineering qualification Knowledge of Railway
  • Engineering standards & specifications Knowledge of modern signalling technology
  • IRSE License for Engineering Manager (Design) 7.8.110E
