Engineering Manager- Design Primary Role Manage the technical contractual scope of the project and functionally lead the project engineering team Responsibilities Industry engagement Establish and set technical strategy in line with overall business strategy to achieve commercial outcomes Provide a dedicated engineering design service to clients to help drive growth of the business Work collaboratively with the business including marketing, operations and industry associations to drive an innovative culture and focus on continuous improvement Determining, implementing, and monitoring engineering strategies, policies and plans Interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications, and providing advice on engineering methods and procedures to achieve construction and production requirements Establishing project schedules and budgets Ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, and with laws, regulations, and safety standards Ensuring engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness, and performance are observed Overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency Liaising with marketing, research and manufacturing managers regarding engineering aspects of new construction and product design May contribute to research and development projects Knowledge/Experience Requirements: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in railway signalling engineering Railway signalling qualification Engineering qualification Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards & specifications Knowledge of modern signalling technology IRSE License for Engineering Manager (Design) 7.8.110E
